Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) offers Chinese Language Training Programs to international students and reviews applicants’ comprehensive qualities and abilities via “Application-Evaluation Mechanism”. The information is listed below.
I. Eligibility
1.Chinese Language Training Program(OnlineTeaching)
(1) No age limit.
(2) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid identification certificate, be in good health, abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and local government as well as regulations of SWUFE, and have no record of violation of laws or regulations.
(3)For applicants who apply for Chinese Language Training Program (Online Teaching),SWUFEwill not provide any assistance with visa.
2. Chinese Language Training Program(OfflineTeaching)
(1) Age limit: be in the age of 18 to 59 by the Registration Day.
(2) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, be in good health, abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and local government as well as regulations of SWUFE, and have no record of violation of laws or regulations.
(3) Applicants who are in China currently must hold a valid Chinese visa type which can be converted into an X visa or student residence permit in China. Please consult with the Chengdu Exit-Entry Administration Bureau and confirm the latest visa-related policies.SWUFEwill not provide any assistance with visabefore therequired RegistrationDay.
II. Period
1. Spring Semester
Application period: January 21st, 2022- March 15th, 2022
Class period: February 2022-July 2022
2. Fall Semester
Application period: May 15th, 2022-September 15th, 2022
Class period: September 2022-January 2023

III. Program Introduction
For the online teaching program, SWUFE adopts the teaching mode of a combination of live streaming classes and regular Q&A sessions. All online classes can be rebroadcast unlimited times before the semester ends; for the offline teaching program, SWUFE adopts the teaching mode of a combination of language courses and cultural courses. The specific class hours shall be subject to the teaching arrangement at the time of enrollment, with 16-17 teaching weeks per semester.
Language courses are mainly divided into three categories: elementary, intermediate and advanced levels, and each category is specified separately, including 8 rubrics. Language courses focus on the cultivation of students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities, to comprehensively improve their Chinese levels. The new students will be assigned to different classes depending on their placement tests, and each student will have one chance to apply for a change of class level within the first teaching week.

IV. ApplicationProcedures
Before the deadline, applicants shall submit the online application form athttps://swufe.17gz.org, and upload all documents required. Applicants shall ensure the authenticity and accuracy of his/her personal information during the online application.

V. Supporting Documents
1.Chinese Language Training Program(OnlineTeaching)
(1) One ID photo taken within 6 months
(2) First page of your passport or the copy of your ID card
2.Chinese Language Training Program(OfflineTeaching)
(1) One ID photo taken within 6 months
(2) First page of your passport
The passport shall be in the category of Personal Ordinary Passport. The passport must be valid later than July 30, 2022.
(3) Valid visa page
Applicants who are in China currently should provide a copy of the page of his/her current visa or residence permit.
(4) Highest academic certificate
(5) Transcript of your highest education
(6) Transfer letter
Applicants with a learning experience in China shall provide aTransfer LetterorLeaving Certificateissued by the previous school. Contact information of the Student Affairs Office shall be indicated in these certificates.
(7) Physical examination form(Filled out in English or Chinese)
Applicants shall provide a physical examination form with a valid result within 6 months. Please download this form from Attachment 1.
(8) Letter of guarantee in China: Please download this form from Attachment 2.
(9) Bank statement
★ If necessary, Admission Office will require applicants to submit extra documents.

VII. BasicRequirements
1. During the study period, students shall observe the laws and decrees of China as well as the rules and regulations of SWUFE.
2. Please make sure you have thoroughly read and fully understood theRegulations for International Students, SWUFEandInternational Students’ Guidebookprovided athttp:/info/1004/1281.htm. SWUFE will take corresponding measures if a student violates related laws, regulations or rules. The student will take full responsibility for any related consequence.
VIII. Admission
1. College of International Education (CIE) of SWUFE will inform applicants of the final results via email in 18 working days, after reviewing applicants’ application forms and supporting documents. Please check your email box regularly.

IX. Other
